Do You Know America's Next Top Young Scientist? Calling all students in grades 5-8: The Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge is now open for entries! Submit a video with a big idea that applies science to life to help solve everyday problems for a chance to win $25,000. Looking for inspiration? Get your students' creative wheels turning with thought-starters, FAQs, and video tips!

How Can My Students Enter? What Will They Win? Entering is simple! Encourage your students to register for the challenge at YoungScientistChallenge.com and submit a 1-2 minute YouTube video describing a new invention or solution to improve an everyday problem. All videos must be submitted by April 20, 2016. Students will be evaluated on their scientific knowledge, creativity, and effective communication skills. The top ten finalists will participate in an exclusive summer mentorship with a 3M Scientist, and travel to 3M's World Headquarters in St. Paul, MN this October to compete for $25,000 and the title of America's Top Young Scientist! Up to 51 State Merit Winners will also be recognized and win a 3M technology prize pack.
